  • It is always darkest before the dawn,

But in the darkness I see you,

    So I trudge blindly forward,

When I stumble, I reach for you to steady me

And you are there, at the edges of my fingertips,

When you falter, I catch you

And I think, perhaps there is nothing so beautiful,

    As a love before sunrise.

  • This is beautiful. peace always

  • @peacenow: Thank you. Your opinion means a lot to me, since you are so talented yourself.

  • Lovely! Glad to see there are still some poets left on xanga!!

  • @goddessofthelight: The last two lines are perfect :-) . ... and thank you.

  • Beautiful. Thanks for writing and posting. Actually, this reminds me of my deceased wife Marvis. I remember walks through the Tennessee woods (after she passed) where I'd try to imagine seeing her again. And I decided that if I ever believed I'd actually seen her there, that would be proof of my arrival at dementia!

  • I like this a lot! very descriptive and meaningful.

I hope you don't mind. I am a long time xanga member, but have lost most of my readers and I'm having a hard time with the new set up. I just can't seem to find people, to read, or at all for that matter. I'd like to follow your writing.
It seems the only way is to find comments and go look at their sites.... kinda makes me feel weird.... but I'll try what I have to at this point :)

  • @Blue_Moon1: Thank you! I am so pleased with the response this poem is getting! And I am flattered that you wish to follow my work, please do.

I too have been having a scavenger hunt for poets through the comments of others. It breaks my heart to see xanga reduced to this, but it is so nice to be finally building a community again... though that brings to mind the burning question on everyone's minds, do we stay with this shadow of xanga? No matter, I have a few more months to decide.

Anyway, it is very nice to "meet" you, stop by anytime!

  • @peacenow: Thank you again. I really like poems that come full circle, so the sunrise thing just felt right. I'm so glad it captured what I was trying to say.

  • @goddessofthelight: It seems in poetry - and often in prose - when it feels right it just is :-) .

  • @goddessofthelight: back again reading... once more, this piece takes my breath away... beautiful!

  • @peacenow: I like your statement... " when it feels right , it just is"
    so true.

  • @Blue_Moon1: Thank you again. I'm so glad you found my site, your impressions are much appreciated and inspire me to write more.
